Internet Explorer 7.0 Sux !!
Selama ini, saya menggunakan Internet Explorer (IE) sebagai default untuk RSS Reader Bloglines. Jadi begitu saya buka IE untuk pertama kalinya, langsung terbuka dua jendela bloglines itu. Sebelumnya tidak ada masalah dengan IE yang bawaan Windows XP legal di kantor saya. Namun 2 hari yang lalu, saya dapat tawaran dari Windows XP untuk update IE ke versi 7. Tanpa pikir panjang, langsung saya setujui tawaran tersebut. Proses pengunduhan versi baru ini tidak terlalu lama. Hanya butuh waktu sekitar 15-20 menit saja.
Awalnya saya cukup takjub dengan tampilan IE 7.0 ini. Lebih eye catching. Mirip dengan perambah Flock yang juga ada di komputer saya di kantor. Berikut tangkapan gambar IE yang bawaan asli dari Windows XP :

Kelebihan lain yang saya rasakan semenjak memakai IE terbaru ini, proses loading sebuah halaman web atau blog menjadi lebih cepat. Hal ini memang sesuai janji dari Microsoft sendiri. Kata mereka (dari hasil tour guide saya ketika selesai install IE), IE 7.0 memiliki fitur lebih dibanding versi bawaan XP saya sebelumnya yaitu : Adanya fasilitas tab (bukan hal yang baru bagi perambah lain seperti Firefox, Opera, Flock dsb) sehingga memudahkan pengguna untuk berpindah blog/web
Lebih cepat, lebih komprehensif dan lebih mudah dalam meng-customize sebuah blog/web.

Tingkat keamanan yang lebih bagus dengan perlindungan terhadap kemungkinan phising.

IE 7.0 saya ini sering mendapat pesan error ketika membuka sebuah web atau blog. Tampilannya seperti ini ketika membuka blog mas Jay :
Awalnya saya pikir blognya mas Jay ini sedang down atau koneksi internet di kantor saya ngadat. Penasaran, saya copy paste tautan blog mas Jay ke Firefox, pada saat yang bersamaan detik itu juga. Hwarakadah...kok bisa???

Berarti IE saya nih yang nggak beres. Padahal, waktu pakai IE lama bawaan Windows XP, tidak ada masalah seperti ini sebelumnya.
Parahnya, pada awalnya saya nggak ngeh dengan pesan error seperti ini. Sering saya batalkan mengunjungi sebuah blog/web kalau IE sudah mendapat pesan seperti ini (maaf kalau blog yang hendak saya kunjungi jadi batal gara-gara IE sux ini 
). Sekali lagi, saya pikir karena blog/web yang bersangkutan yang error. Halah, ternyata IE 7.0 saya yang bermasalah. Untung saya masih punya perambah yang lain selain IE di komputer kantor saya yakni Firefox, Opera dan Flock. Untuk sementara, IE 7.0 ini saya istirahatkan dulu (install ulang atau enggak..install ulang atau enggak...)

Sebelum ada komentar “hare gene masih pakai IE”, maka saya jawab dulu, karena perambah ini sudah ada sebelumnya ketika saya selesai install windows XP. Selain itu, saya terlanjur terbiasa dengan IE. Hehehe... nggak ding. Alasan saya sih karena masing-masing perambah yang saya install di komputer kantor ini, mempunyai peran sendiri-sendiri. IE untuk blogwalking via bloglines, Opera untuk keperluan kantor (cek email, browsing gambar dsb), Firefox untuk download file (bila koneksi mati, masih bisa diteruskan kembali tanpa mulai dari awal) dan flock untuk keperluan menulis blog, upload photobucket, flickr dan sejenisnya tanpa harus masuk ke web ybs. Hihihi..ribet ya? #%$&
